Tacoma Slavic Association is part of the Ukrainian Community, Center of Washington. TSA was found in1993 as a result of cooperative efforts of the Ukrainian and Russian communities that expanded during the last 10 years of immigration into the state of Washington. As a joint organization TSA is designed to promote community empowerment and leadership development for the greater Ukrainian/ Russian speaking community in the U.S.

TSA offers community advocacy, cultural workshops, intensive case management, and other services that meet the specific and unique needs of Ukrainian/ Russian speaking communities.

Services provided by Community advocate:

• To be an advocate for the refugee within the social and medical service system: DSHS, Social Security, schools, housing, medical insurance, etc.
• To provide individual and family support as well as group support
  and full case management to families.
• To locate a needed service provider and make necessary appointments.
• To assist in locating subsidized Social and /or medical programs.
• To assist with Immigration adjustment status process.

TSA Goal

To help improve the economic condition of Ukrainian/Russian speaking refugees and immigrants from the former Soviet Union and providing them information and support that will help families and individuals succeed in the U.S.
